New Health Office Attendant Starting in January 2019

Miss Lexus Allen will be leaving her post as Health Office Attendant at the end of December for a new opportunity. We are very grateful for her wonderful care of our students and dedication to her job and the school. We advertised for a replacement and completed the interviews and vetting. We made an offer to our top candidate, and he accepted.

Mr. Lino "Nick" Jubilado will be starting the position in
January. Mr. Jubilado is a current parent of Nilia Jubilado in the PreK class. Nick is an LVN (licenced vocational nurse), a social worker, and a realtor. He has quite an array of skills! He is very excited to join our school family in this capacity. We are equally excited to have him as his expertise will be a great match for our needs. Stop by and say "Hi" to him when you get a chance.

Alumni News

Huge shoutout to alumnus Kristofer Chang (Class of 2016) and current Flintridge Prep student for devoting many hours and a lot of effort and care to baking 100 bags of chocolate chip cookies in support of Clairbourn's Annual Fund this year. Thank you for helping out, Kristofer! When he dropped off the cookies, he was on his way to help tutor a friend in biology. What a remarkable human being - and one who reflects the true giving spirit of Clairbourn School.

Bravo, Tennis Competitor Yu Hong C.!

Yu Hong C. (in Grade 6) joined 3 tennis tournaments at Casely International Championships in Miami Florida from December 9 to December 14. There are sixteen consecutive 2-day tournaments where the competition is fierce among the best international players. More than 98% of the participants are either in the main or qualifying draws of the Orange Bowl, a prestigious Junior Tennis tournament. Many top tennis stars like Juan Martin Del Potro, Gael Monfils, Vera Zvonareva, Shahar Peer, and Maria Kirilenko played at the Casely International tournaments as juniors.

Yo Hong completed a total of 8 matches competing with tennis players ranging in age from 12 to 14 who came from all over the world to compete. He matched opponents from across the United States as well as from Japan, Trinidad, South Africa, Panama, Mexico and Brazil. Yo Hong had a very good overall record in these matches and was a champion in one of the tournaments.
