Parents Needed - Special Lunches
A friendly reminder to all 4th grade parents - October is your month to cover back parking lot duty for special lunch days! As part of the CFA, we are looking for your assistance to help serve lunch to our kids. The CFA brings in special lunch vendors on the first two Tuesday's and every Thursday of the month as a way to raise funds for Clairbourn. It also gives you a nice break from packing lunches! Each grade is assigned a month during the school year. Please sign up with your child's grade so that we may continue to provide this special treat for the kids.

Thank You for Ordering Scrip
Your orders should be in by early next week. We will have a table set up so that you can pick up your Scrip on Tuesday, October 2nd. Questions? Contact one of these parents: Shelley Wu, Vivian Chen, Jenny Kao, or Anna Ma.

Special Lunch Ordering
Special Lunch is an important part of the CFA's fundraising. Special Lunch happens every Thursday and on the 1st and 2nd Tuesdays of each month. We kindly ask that you order at least 3 days prior to the lunch date to ensure your child will receive their special lunch.

Important Notice

Parents, Please Activate Your Vidigami Accounts
Vidigami is Clairbourn's new password-protected photo sharing site for school photos and videos. This will replace our postings to Flickr.com. If you need a new invitation to be sent, please email nward@clairbourn.org.

We've already populated the site with photos for each grade, plus much more! Once you have activated and logged into Vidigami, you will be able to upload media to the school groups you are a part of, and share moments with others registered with Vidigami in the Clairbourn School community.

How to Get Access
Parents, check your email to see if you received, on Wednesday 9/19, your sign-in email from Vidigami with a green button at the bottom to login to your new account. If you need a resend of your Vidigami invitation please email nward@clairbourn.org.

Vidigami App
If you choose to download and use the free Vidigami mobile app, please note that is a VERY limited tool. You can't do much more than upload photos and video or view photos.

Desktop View
Interacting with Vidigami.com through a desktop computer will give you a large amount of features to interact with photos. (You will be able to login to the mobile app with the same username and login you use for the desktop app.)

My Sets Feature
Parents can select photos to go into "My Sets." This feature lets you collect your favorite photos in one spot and then download as a batch what you have selected.

Questions?
Nancy Ward, Clairbourn's Communications Director is coordinating the Vidigami site. Please email her at nward@clairbourn.org if you have questions or need help.

Congrats to Skillful Artist, Irene X.
Irene X., in 5th grade, won first place in the "Reading Takes You Everywhere" bookmark contest in Covina, Ca. Irene was awared a certificate at the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. Irene has been taking art lessons since she was four years old. Her drawing, which took 5 hours to create, will be featured on printed bookmarks in all Covina libraries. She loves to read and recognizes the importance of using bookmarks with inspiring artwork. When Irene was a young child, her mother, Diana Han, would buy her bookmarks. By the time Irene was in 1st grade she decided she wanted to design her own. She hopes that her drawings will motivate young children to read and enjoy books.

Bravo, Competitive Fencer, Marcel Z.
Marcel Z., in 5th grade, participated
in a Regional Youth Circuit (RYC) tournament in Y10 division this past weekend.
He fenced with other competitors from all over Southern California. Marcel did five rounds of matches and fought his way through the pool. He did two rounds of Direct Elimination (DE) and ranked #6 for Men Y10 in Epee. Good job, Marcel!
