High School Acceptances

We're excited to celebrate our 8th-graders' acceptances into these high schools shown above and more. Our students had an average of 2 acceptances each and are busy making choices about which school will support them in their growth over the next four years. Many of our students were honored by the high schools with merit scholarships because of the work they did at Clairbourn and their high marks on the entrance exams. We have students who have been offered $500 scholarships, $7500 scholarships, and 50% scholarships renewable for four years. Our students are in demand! We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and progress they have made. They represent Clairbourn well.

1st Grade Classroom Store Teaches Economic Principles at Clairbourn

Early entrepreneurship experiences are becoming increasingly important as an education tool to teach students a host of important lessons that can pay off later in life. According to inc.com editor Tom Foster, who wrote about student entrepreneurship programs in February 2017, “The big idea underpinning all of them: Work has changed, and no matter what career kids ultimately pursue, they’re going to have to constantly adapt and innovate in order to succeed–just like entrepreneurs do.” Read more...

Shakespeare Play Was a Smash Hit!

Clairbourn Middle School students put on a full-text version of Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night in March of 2019. This year, the play was re-imagined in a 1920s setting, and original music was created for the performers by show director Cara Barker. Clairbourn School drama teachers Cara and Paul Barker, along with English teacher Janet Taylor have coordinated their teaching efforts over the years to make Shakespeare accessible, relatable, and performable for Middle School students. Performing in the annual play helps students gain tremendous confidence, performance and memory skills, and an appreciation for the classic works of Shakespeare.
