From Head of School
A Year of Joy, Gratitude and Growth!
Dear Clairbourn Families,
We have had two packed first days filled with smiles, greetings, hugs and warm welcomes. I loved to watch families come on campus the first day to take pictures and enjoy the CFA's welcome coffee. It feels great to have everyone on campus, ready for the new year.
As we go forward, remember our Growth Mindset. We don't know this YET. We aren't good at that YET. We haven't learned it YET. We don't have new friends YET. Let's help the students remember to give new things a try, give themselves grace and time to learn, and embrace new challenges. While you are at it, you can model that by joining a committee, volunteering at a new post, or reaching out to a new parent for connection.
We all can grow, and our community grows stronger as individuals grow. I am looking forward to a great year of joy, gratitude, and growth!

Cougar Corner Grand Opening is Next Friday!
Join us on September 6 to celebrate the grand opening of Cougar Corner!
Starting Friday, September 6, students can visit Cougar Corner after school to grab a snack. They can pay with cash or charge it to their Cougar Corner accounts. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for parents to volunteer, connect with other parents, and engage with our students. We look forward to seeing you there!

Student Cell Phone Policy
Clairbourn is a phone-free space to improve teaching and learning.
Students in preschool - 5th grades MAY NOT bring
any personal electronic devices to school, including
but not limited to games, smart watches, tablet
computers, laptop computers, wireless headphones,
e-readers and cell phones. |
 Middle school cell phone
policy is as follows:
Students may bring a cell phone
to school but it MUST BE locked in
a Yondr pouch during school. |
Yondr has been implemented in over 1,000 schools across 21 countries to facilitate an engaged learning environment. It utilizes a simple, secure pouch that stores a phone.
Every middle school student will secure their phone
in a personally assigned Yondr pouch when they
arrive at school each day. Students will maintain possession of their phones and will not use them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day. Students are responsible for their pouch during the school day.
If there is an emergency or time-sensitive information your child needs and you would like to get in contact with your child, please call Clairbourn directly at 626-286-3108.

Nut Policy Reminder
In order to make Clairbourn a safe environment for all of our students:
• NO nuts or items containing nuts.
• If sending any special treats to school to share with other students, be sure to avoid nuts or nut oil. Please give these items to your child’s teacher for
distribution, and ALWAYS check with the teacher first before purchasing.
• Have your child wash their hands before school if your child eats peanuts or peanut butter before school.
• NO sharing food.

Don't forget to check your class roster & schedule.
Reminder: Students should arrive at school by 8:00 a.m. They may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. and will be marked tardy starting at 8:05 a.m.
