Class of 2025 Highlights
We Have Traveled a Fun Road TOGETHER!
We are planning the upcoming graduation of our mighty Class of 2025! Some of our eighth graders are Clairbourn lifers and have been Cougars since preschool or kindergarten while others joined us later on in middle school. We are proud of our Class of 2025. Stay tuned as we begin the highlight series of our graduating class!

Preschool Highlights
Buzzing with creativity and discovery
In PK, students transformed their classroom into a bustling construction site as they explored shapes through hands-on building with blocks and Magna-Tiles. They engineered buildings and cities, used tools to hammer shapes, and will soon take a walking field trip around the neighborhood to spot shapes and street signs in the real world.
Meanwhile, the JPK class has been on an artistic journey, drawing inspiration from famous artists. Led by our talented preschool teacher and resident artist, Mrs. Storey, students created self-portraits featuring favorite flowers and animals in the style of Frida Kahlo, sketched large outdoor flowers inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe, and painted vibrant concentric circles like Kandinsky. These art experiences have empowered our young learners to see themselves as artists, each with a unique creative voice.

Clairbourn Insights
Presentations and Board Games in Social Studies
After learning about the Silk Road, sixth graders showcased their knowledge by creating impressive slideshows highlighting cities from Ancient China to the Roman Empire in Italy. Their slides featured importantlandmarks for each city, accompanied by beautiful photos, graphics and captions. Then, they presented their work to the class, sharpening their public speaking skills.
Meanwhile, do you know how many times the Constitution has been amended? Not sure? Just ask an eighth grader! In social studies, eighth graders used their deep knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, the colonies, the Articles of Confederation, and more to create original board games. Working in pairs, they designed game boards, markers, question cards, spinners, and rule books. They tested each other’s knowledge while having a great time! |
Honoring the Cultural Heritage of our Clairbourn Community!
The Clairbourn community celebrated a Cultural Heritage Day! Students, faculty and staff wore traditional attire or a shirt to represents their culture. Some also wore their Clairbourn shirt to represent being a part of the Clairbourn culture! Thank you to middle school social studies teacher Mrs. Neilson and science teacher Ms. Vinnedge for organizing this special event and all of the middle school parents for sharing a dish from your culture!

April Drop and Build Day

In honor of Earth Day, this month’s Drop Everything & Build challenge for the middle schoolers was to build a device that could pick up a variety of litter. Different pieces of litter were worth varying amounts of points, depending on how difficult they were to reach and how challenging they were to pick up. The middle school engineers used a variety of sweeping, sticking, and fishing methods to attempt to earn the most points. There were creative uses of the limited amount of tape, as well as some impressive flexibility and core strength used to reach the highest point-value litter. The most successful teams were definitely the ones who built multipart devices and worked together as a team to pick up the litter.
We had many successful teams and in the end, here are the results:
Eighth Grade: Runners-up —Ruby & Melody and Bella & Teddy Most successful device — Bea and Malena!
Seventh Grade:
Runners-up — Keira & Alan
Earned the most points — Angela & Ethan!
Sixth Grade:
Runners-up — Porsche & Jeremy Earned the most points in the entire middle school —Grace and Bill!
