A Day of Appreciation

Thank you for being a part of
our Clairbourn life on this memorable
Mothers and Grands Visiting Day!

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the special guests for taking the time to visit our school and their children and grandchildren on Mothers and Grands Visiting Day. Your presence made a lasting impact on our students, and they appreciated the opportunity to share their school experience with you. Thank you for being an important part of their education and for helping to shape their future!
Clairbourn Insights

Preschool engineered leprechaun traps with their special grownups on Mothers & Grands' Visiting Day. Then on St. Patrick's Day, we observed many clues that the Leprechaun came! From the green & gold glitter on the floor and green toilet water to the ginormous mess they made in our classrooms! Sadly, no one was able to catch a Leprechaun with their trap, but we will try again next year!
Q3 Sports Awards

Recognizing the hard work and dedication
of our talented athletes!

We had a fun, successful, and exciting track season even though the rain kept us from the league finals. Both the A and B track team members competed with heart to increase their speed, endurance, and distances. It was impressive to watch them make progress and go for it even if they were nervous.

Our highlights from track meets this season include Austin's third place in the 400-meter individual event and high jump; Bella's first place in the shot put; Nilia's enthusiasm and earning three second place ribbons.

Congratulations to the following athletes this season:
Girls A Track Team:
Coaches' Award: Sima
MVP: Bella
Girls B Track Team:
Coaches' Award: Naveen
MVP: Nilia
Boys A Track Team:
Most Improved Award: Matty
MVP: Austin
Boys B Track Team:
Most Improved Award: Rodwin
MVP: Daniel

Thank you to all the preschoolers for spreading school spirit and cheering at the Clairbourn track meet! We are proud of our school community and athletes!

Egg-citing Adventures

In the kindergarten classrooms, students learned about life science through the study of chickens and their life cycles. The fascination sparked by reading books on this subject quickly transformed into a hands-on and engaging learning experience. They placed fertilized eggs into an
incubator and waited for signs of growth over the 21 days. Through the process of candling fertilized eggs, they found viable eggs and also those unfit for hatching, deepening their understanding of the beginnings of life. Anticipation peaked as they observed movement within two of the eggs and then welcomed the arrival of the chicks.

Our kindergarten classrooms buzzed with activities centered on chickens, ranging from reading and sketching to exploring the different parts of a chicken. Students shared the responsibility of caring for the chicks through the chicken helper role. They even enjoyed naming each baby chick that hatched! It's exciting to experience the wonders of life science with our kindergarteners!
March Drop
Everything and Build

Well done, Cougar engineers!

On Mothers and Grands Visiting Day, the middle school students and their guests were challenged to build a paper airplane that could stay in the air for the longest amount of time. The engineers and their visitors designed planes with as much stability as possible, and they worked out how and from where to throw the planes in order to achieve the most hang time. The added challenge of the damp weather made things interesting, but fortunately the rain mostly held off during the testing.

In the end, the sixth grade runners-up were Bill and Angela, and the plane with the longest flight time was built by Atticus, Porsche, and Ariel. The runners-up in eighth grade were Matthew B. and Teddy, and the plane that stayed in the air the longest was built by Ruby and Jerry. The runners-up in the seventh grade were Ethan C. and Austin, and the winning plane, with the longest time in the entire Middle School, was built by Hins and Warren.
