Solar Eclipses

Thank you to our middle school science teacher Ms. Vinnedge for organizing the solar glasses for our community last week. Students gathered with their families to watch the solar eclipse on Saturday, October 14. Everyone's curiosity was ignited as they witnessed the moon gradually covering the sun, casting a temporary shadow over the land. It was a remarkable opportunity to witness this wonder of the universe.

There are two to five solar eclipses each year, with a total eclipse taking place every 18 months or so. Whether you can view that eclipse depends on where you are in the world. As the Earth rotates, the Moon's shadow on Earth (and the view of the eclipse) travels from west to east. After the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, the next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States will be on Aug. 23, 2044. We hope all of our students continue to foster a lifelong interest in the cosmos and the scientific exploration of the world beyond!

Kindergarteners' Theatre Adventure

Kindergarteners learned a lot on their theatre field trip to watch Pete the Cat's Big Hollywood Adventure. This creative musical featured several Pete the Cat books including Cavecat Pete, Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map and The Cool Cat Boogie. The performance was filled with friendship, teamwork, problem-solving and fun! This live theatre experience sparked students' imagination, fostering a love for storytelling and learning about some important lessons.
Thank you for a WANDerful Book Fair!

As this year’s “Reading is Wanderful” Book Fair comes to an end, we want to express our gratitude to everyone involved. From train rides to wizard dress up day, to our special authors and to all the parents and grands who visited us. We are so appreciative of our wonderful Clairbourn community's generous contributions and time to help make a WANDerful Book Fair this year! We could not have done it without you!

It all started with a vision of transforming our MPB into the magical world of Hogwarts. The creativity and artistic talent of Shanshan Huang helped bring our vision to life. It would not be possible without you, Shanshan, THANK YOU!!! A most HEARTFELT thank you to Mastaneh Wazni and Apryle Ferguson who selflessly dove in with us as our behind the scenes co-chairs. They became our missing puzzle pieces to complete this endeavor. Also, thank you to Jessie Zhang for the balloon arches and Kate Santiago & Serena Guerville for decorating Honeydukes.

A special shout out to Ryan Morehouse and his team for taking the time to help us transform the MPB into Hogwarts. Thank you for putting up with our ambitious requests. With the use of the lift, ladders and other materials, the MPB looked amazing! Thank you Luke Ball for helping with the visual and audio during the Book Fair. It helped set the ambiance and bring Hogwarts to life.

Clairbourn Life

Thank you to the Book Fair team for a successful school event!

Visiting days are one of our favorite school events, and we were thrilled to welcome the dads and grandparents back on campus! To be a part of each child's growth and journey is truly a privilege! Thank you for filling the campus with joy, pride and love!

Uniform Reminder

Please follow the uniform policy found in the Student-Parent Handbook on page 17. Please make sure all bottoms are navy or khaki. All outerwear must be from the uniform list (crested preferred) or plain navy. Class sweatshirts are for middle school only.  It is especially important as the days get cooler in the mornings that outerwear complies with the uniform requirements.

Clairbourn Connection

It's heartwarming to see Clairbourn alums thrive together as a team! Kevin Z.'20, Arthur Z.'23, William B.'22, Matthew C.'20 are all playing on their high school football team together. We also enjoying welcoming visits from our alums. Justin F.'22 stopped by school to say a hi to Dr. Patzlaff!

At Clairbourn, we create Scholars and Leaders with Heart. A small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of people in our community who are homeless.

THANK YOU!
