Inspiring Young Minds: "Storyteller of the Week" Brings Stories to Life

In the Library, Mrs. Ward has begun the “Storyteller of the Week” program. This is a special program for our first grade students. Each week, one or two children are chosen and given a wordless picture book to take home. They come up with their own story to go with the book. The following week, these storytellers have an opportunity to sit in the special storyteller’s chair and tell their version of the story to their classmates. This is an opportunity for the students to experience the joy of storytelling and a treasured memory of many of our older students.
Where Good Choices Shine Bright

PK Celebrated Sparkle Day with
Snow Activities

Preschool students enjoyed a well-earned sparkle day by making good choices individually and as a class! They celebrated with a snow day. Everyone arrived to school in warm winter clothes, enjoyed hot cocoa and turned the sleeping mats into forts. They even hid behind forts and had an exciting snow fight. Can you spot Ms. Flores as a penguin? Thank you preschoolers for modeling good behaviors and how to make good choices!
Battle of Books

Reading Challenge Accepted!

Battle of the Books is a reading challenge for students from second to eighth grade. It is a national program revised for Clairbourn. Each team of three to four students from grades two to five was challenged to read a total of eight books together as a team. In grades six to eight, each team (one advisory class per team) was challenged to work together to read a total of 16 books. Teams will answer questions in a quiz show format until there is one winning team left for each of second, third, fourth and fifth grade as well as one winning middle school team.

Parents are welcome to quietly observe the competition from the bleachers. Winning teams will be presented the following day, at Morning Assembly on Tuesday, January 30. Here is the schedule!
