Let's Wrap Up the Year Strong

Dear Clairbourn Families,

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support on Giving Tuesday. It was great to hear about the fun giveaways, festive music, and special appearance by Captain Cougar during our morning transportation! Thanks so much to Joannes Rodriguez, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, for putting together such a great event to generate support for Clairbourn. We added to our percentage of parents who have supported the Annual Fund and are getting closer to our goal of 100%. Thanks to all of you who have participated. For those who have not yet made their donation, there is still time. Please consider making a gift before the end of the year!

It is also time to enjoy our bright yellow ginkgo leaves that are blanketing the center quad. I love seeing them in the trees, but I love watching the joy of the students (and sometimes parents and teachers) who are playing and experiencing the annual fun! It just puts a smile on my face!

I also wanted to give a very big shout-out to the administrative team who stepped in this week while I was out, especially Mrs. Janet Taylor. I am very grateful for the fabulous team of dedicated administrators!

Gratitude Improves Mindset at Clairbourn

Do you know in psychology research, gratitude is often associated with greater happiness? Gratitude helps people feel more positive, encourages good experiences, improves health and builds stronger relationships. Here at Clairbourn, nurturing gratitude and seeing all the good around us is not only practiced during Thanksgiving but woven into students' daily life.

This year, we were excited to welcome back our Thanksgiving Assembly tradition, which is one of our beloved school events. JPK-K cougars danced, first to third graders recited poems, and fourth and fifth graders sang a song interspersed with students sharing gratitude! The middle school sang a song while signing the words in American Sign Language. The music performed by our middle school string musicians definitely added extra magic to our Thanksgiving Assembly!

We gathered as one big Clairbourn to show gratitude. We hope you enjoy our 2022 Thanksgiving Assembly video below. We are grateful for our Clairbourn community!

Giving Tuesday Supports Annual Fund

Creating Scholars and Leaders with Heart

This Tuesday was Giving Tuesday. It is touted as a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform our communities and the world. The Clairbourn community of parents, staff and students came together for an exciting morning during drop off. Captain Cougar made an appearance to support our good cause. Special fortune cookies were shared with the community and thank you for those who submitted the photos!

We are almost at 80% community participation! For those who haven't made a gift, and plan to do so later in the fiscal year, please make a pledge now!

Thank you for supporting Clairbourn and our students!

Clairbourn Gift Policy

Gratitude is always welcome, but a gift is
never necessary.
A kind note, a genuine thank you, or a word of gratitude is always meaningful.

Clairbourn has a gift policy for all employees:

• Employees may only accept gifts and/or gift cards that have a value of $100 or less.

• Employees may accept a gift and/or gift card of over $100 only if it is a collective gift and each individual’s contribution is $100 or less (i.e. the Scrip Gift at the holidays and end of the year).

Please help us by following this policy. If you feel you must do more than the note or word of thanks, please consider contributing to the group Scrip gifts at the holidays and at the end of the year. Please do not put any employees in an awkward situation by ignoring the policy.

If an employee receives something of higher value, it must either be returned, used in a raffle or as a CFA auction item. Thank you for your support!
