Creativity • Problem Solving • Community

Dear Clairbourn Families,

I am so proud of our youngest Cougars and their very hard working teachers who organized and participated in the Early Learning Stem event last night. It was so much fun to see scientific thinking and real world problem solving being applied in such an age appropriate way. They worked on the science of sails and wind, the concepts of buoyancy, and also worked on logistical restrictions such as size and shape as factors in getting their boats as far as possible down the river. Amazing creativity was on display in the variety of solutions they presented. Well done!

I am also very excited for the Entrepreneurial Fair and the Barbeque. It will be great to see what our students created and also wonderful to enjoy some social time with our families. Thanks to the CFA and event chairs for the hard work in organizing the event. Wahoo!!!

Also, another reminder on traffic. Please be sure we are not blocking the intersections on Huntington. Our neighbours need to use the streets too, and it is illegal to block the intersections. Please help the school to be a good neighbour!

Clairbourn Regatta: Our Annual Early Learning STEM Event

We are so proud to welcome back our 4th annual Clairbourn Early Learning STEM event — the STEM Regatta! STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. A STEM project like the Clairbourn Regatta blends elements of those subjects in order to introduce our youngest students to the idea of design thinking and the tools they are going to need in order to be successful in the world and workplace of their future.

Community Service Opportunity for Door of Hope

Our Student Council made October a "Socktober" month! They are asking everyone to donate a new, unused pair of socks to Door of Hope.

At Clairbourn, we create Scholars and Leaders with Heart. A small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of people in our community who are homeless.

Thank you to the Student Council for this idea. Please bring your new pairs of socks, in children or adult sizes, to the box at transportation between now and the end of Socktober. Thank you!
