A few important reminders

Dear Clairbourn Families,

A couple of notes on traffic and safety: Safety is more important than being on time. Please do not let your children off in a driving lane on Huntington. It is also very important to be good neighbors in our community. Please do not block the Sunnyslope intersection when waiting in the transportation line. Our neighbors need to be able to drive through the intersection when the light changes. We have received several phone calls from frustrated neighbors, so I need your help.  Please follow all traffic rules.

This week we have started our fall sports seasons with our Cougars representing Clairbourn in both volleyball and football. The student sports announcement highlighted the growth and progress already showing up in our teams. Way to go Cougars!!

A big thanks to the CFA for the Cougar Corner Grand Reopening. There were wall-to-wall smiles on Friday afternoon, all filled with popsicles and treats. I was happy to hear our students expressing gratitude to the parent volunteers and then enjoying their treats with their friends. It was a great way to start the weekend. Thanks CFA!

2022-2023 Annual Fund

Did you know...
  • The Annual Fund exists to keep the cost of tuition as low as possible with the expectation that every family will contribute generously. Every gift to the Annual Fund is tax deductible.
  • Every gift goes toward bridging the gap of tuition and the estimated cost of educating a child at Clairbourn. At Clairbourn, your gift goes to up-to-date technology for classrooms, our specialists, talented teachers, small class sizes, buses for field trips, and so much more.

Say hello to your Annual Fund Captains this week! Because of Clairbourn, we are grateful for our parent volunteers who are serving as class captains to encourage families to share their love and commitment for Clairbourn as part of our Annual Fund. Get to know your class captain, they are here to support!

If you have any questions or if you are ready to make a gift, please reach out to Mrs. Rodriguez, our Director of Development.

Preschool Highlight

Learning cognitive understanding and developing visual perception through color exploration!

Every Thursday in PK is a color day! Each week we learn a new color. We sing about it, dress and think of things that are in the color of the week, and have fun exploring with it! Learning the colors is a milestone in early childhood and represents a child's cognitive understanding. Exposing children to and teaching them about the colors develops their visual perception which is the ability of the brain to correctly interpret what the eyes see. It is an important pre-reading skill!

Here are some fun facts to share about colors!
• The color wheel was invented by Isaac Newton.
• Red is the first color a baby sees.
• Chickens are very sensitive to light colors.
• Mars gets its red color from iron-oxide.
• Mosquitos love blue, too!

This month, we pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.
