Getting ready for a new school year
Dear Clairbourn Families,
I am so excited to see everyone back at school in a few short weeks. On our first day of school, we will have some great events to kick off the new year. All parents will have the option of parking and walking their children to their classrooms or driving through the regular transportation line to drop off their students at the curb. Either option is great. The students will all gather at their classrooms and when it is time to start our school day, the students will say goodbye to the parents that are there and proceed to the MPB (Multi-Purpose Building) for our Morning Assembly. At that time, the parents who are on campus are invited to join the CFA (Clairbourn Families Association) for a meet and greet Coffee on the Quad. At around 8:30 parents may gather for the ribbon cutting of the Liu-Peng Innovation Lab with an opportunity to take a peek at the new facility.
Our first week of Morning Assembly will be for STUDENTS ONLY in order to get our routine established and prevent extra indoor crowding. After our first week of school, parents are invited to join us for our daily Morning Assembly if they would like. We love including everyone in our Morning Assemblies, but we are trying to maintain spacing as much as necessary in our indoor spaces.
I look forward to both connecting with our new families and reconnecting with our returning families on August 29. See you soon!

Welcome from CFA
 Hello Clairbourn!
Hope everyone’s summer has been going well. We would like to welcome old families as well as new ones to our school. To the new families, I know you will love the school as much as our families do. We are so honored to be serving as the 2022-2023 Clairbourn Families Association (CFA) Co-Presidents.
We are sure parents are happy to have their children back at school. We have such an incredible, hardworking community at Clairbourn. The CFA has been at work all summer planning for upcoming events, such as the annual Book Fair, Entrepreneurial Fair, Family BBQ, Spring Carnival and the Spring Benefit. We cannot wait for everyone to see all the exciting activities we have planned for our students, community and families.

Clairbourn Insights
Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association sent a heart-felt thank you letter to Clairbourn for our support for honey bees.
Last school year, our kindergarten classes completed a can and plastic bottle drive as their cross-curricular service learning project to help the Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association. The donations they collected from our community were sent to thirteen institutes to further honey bee research and education. Thank you Clairbourn scholars and leaders with heart!!

Parker-Anderson After School Daycare and Enrichment Classes

Magnus Health and New Student Forms
Please enter all requested health information into your Magnus account right away. All NEW families and current seventh grade and kindergarten students must complete Magnus health forms and submit their child’s immunization records by tomorrow. Use this CougarNet link for Magnus Health in the Resource Board section to provide your information. If you need help, contact Nick Jubilado in the Health Office or call 626-286-3108, ext. 117.
COVID Testing (cheek swab for children)
Before school starts on Monday, August 29, we need everyone to get tested on Friday, August 26. The following are the preferred times for each grade level to minimize the wait time, but you can come any time that is convenient for you. Students need a negative Covid test before entering campus on Aug. 29.

Get ready for the first day of school on Monday, August 29!
1. Complete Required Forms
Please complete all required forms found in your CougarNet account. If you have any questions about completing forms, or have difficulty logging in, please contact the school. Only required forms will have automatic email notification. There are also optional forms you may want to fill out in CougarNet.
2. Subscribing to School Calendars
From Clairbourn.org's Calendar page, click "Grid View" of calendar. Scroll down and click the green button with arcs. We've circled it in red in the image below.
Next, you will get a blank browser page. The next step is to copy the calendar address shown in your browser's URL window and paste it into your calendaring program where they ask for the subscription address.
Or Log into CougarNet and click "Calendar." Click button above calendar with arcs on it. Choose appropriate options from pop up window. Watch a how-to video.

Middle School Math Placement Test
NEW students entering 6th to 8th grade will take their math placement test on Monday, August 22, 2022.
The one-hour tests will be proctored by our middle school math teacher, Mrs. Messler. Students should be dropped off at the school entryway at 8:45am and picked up by 10:15am. Please leave calculators at home, but bring several sharpened pencils. |
Choicelunch and Clairbourn School for the 2022-23 School Year!
Check out choicelunch A La Carte, their simple and contactless lunch option. A customized, individually packaged lunch, labeled for your child, will arrive at school with everything you need from entree, snacks, fruits/veggies to drinks. All you need to do is to open an account, choose an entree and select your sides!
First day of service: August 29, 2022. That means, orders need to be placed by noon, 3 days in advance on August 26, 2022.

Important note: DO NOT order PE uniforms since they will be provided for each student in grades 4-8.

Clairbourn JPK-K After-School Daycare
