Together We Are Clairbourn

Dear Clairbourn Families,

I have been watching the amazing efforts of the CFA in the past few weeks. They have been working tirelessly to put on the Bhangra Gala happening this Saturday and get the auction items procured and listed. It has been fun to see the bidding happening in the GiveSmart portal. The students are all buzzing about the teacher items and parents have been bidding on the adult items. I have my eye on a few of the items too. I can't wait to see you at the Gala this weekend to enjoy each other's company and support our students while having fun. A huge thanks to the CFA for the amazing effort that goes into this event.

I am also excited to send out our acceptance letters tomorrow to the applicant families. We have a wonderful group of students applying to be part of our community.  Many of them applied because you have spoken highly in the community of Clairbourn! We love word-of-mouth referrals. It means a lot to the school to know that we have such a supportive and close-knit community.

Thanks for being cheerleaders for Clairbourn! It makes us even stronger.

Middle School Percussion Fun

During the third quarter, some seventh graders have been taking a music percussion class - focusing on Afro-Cuban rhythms, instruments, and performers. Students have the opportunity to play various rhythmic instruments - the djembe, conga, bongos, hand drums, maracas, güiro and claves.

They enjoy learning different kinds of traditional rhythms - such as the cha-cha and bolero patterns, and have been studying the influences of hand percussion in contemporary music through the music of Tito Puente, Carlos Santana, and Celia Cruz. All while having the chance to play and create different rhythmic pattens of their own!

Second Grade Visited LA Arboretum!

Clairbourn second grade students went on a hands-on, interactive journey at the LA Arboretum. They took a closer look at the incredible natural systems at work through the lens of different themes, including habitat, pollination, plant adaptation, ethnobotany, and biodiversity.

Our students are looking forward to sharing their experience with us at Morning Assembly! What a unique opportunity for collective learning and dynamic peer exchange! Well done, Cougars!

Let Our Cougar Spirits Roar!

We have entered the track season and students have been practicing and learning the shot put, high jump, long jump, hurdles and relays. The campus is filled with our Cougar spirit and students' cheers. It's motivating to see everyone learning new sports and trying their best!
