Eighth Grade Gives Back To The Community
Clairbourn’s eighth-grade students spent Friday morning, November 22, helping the Foothill Unity Center sort, box, and label donated food for distribution. They also bagged fresh fruit and vegetables for Thanksgiving meals and decorated holiday cards to be distributed with food and gifts for local low-income families.
The Foothill Unity Center staff were very appreciative of the students' help during this busy holiday time. They were especially pleased by how much was accomplished by Clairbourn’s hard-working students!

Clairbourn's Sugar Plum Party
Socializing, shopping, and sweet treats were the main ingredients in Clairbourn’s festive annual Sugar Plum Party and Holiday Boutique. At the heart of the event is the tradition of parents making treat bags for each student. The bag includes candy and a Clairbourn keepsake ornament designed to serve as a lasting reminder of their happy years at the school. (It is important to note that many families take great pride in their growing ornament collection and cherish them long after their children have become adults.)
For the wrapping party and breakfast, parents gathered in the historic Manor House on campus which was adorned with flickering candlelight, holiday wreaths, glittering pine boughs, holly berries, and other decorative touches. In addition to a delicious breakfast of fruit, pastries, and quiche, provided by Perfect Equation Catering, there was plenty of time to socialize and see Santa Claus who handed out coal-shaped candies for the occasion.
Later that morning, a host of vendors were on hand in the MPB for the Holiday Shopping Boutique. The vendors included Bath Bombs by Jessie Zhang, Lisa Li’s cashmere goods from Beyond Fashion Inc., Handmade Hats by Cissy Li, Sonja Hung’s handmade jewelry from The Harbinger Co., Bhart Manwani and Diana Balmori’s comforters and throws from SL Home Fashion Inc., Lynn Huang’s glasses and sunglasses from Huang Ophthalmology Center Inc., high-end jewelry from Global Jewelry Inc., holiday flowers and flower teddy bears from Tobey Xuan, and holiday cookies and luxury house slippers by the Sugar Plum Committee.
The Sugar Plum Event was expertly coordinated and decorated by event co-chairs and current parents Anny Shen and Sherry Sasahara who were assisted by parent volunteers Vivian Tse, Claire Lee, Binbin Zheng, Summer Zhang, Christina Huang, Yue Ma, Helena Zhang, Jessie Zhang, Claudia Juliado, Tekoah Kler, Stephanie Chang, Ting Sun, Lucy Huang, Eric Sasahara, and Chin Guok.
