Schedule Your Parent/Teacher Conference

Wednesday, October 30, is Parent Teacher Conference Day for grades JPK through 5. There is no school for students. Follow this link to schedule a conference time with your child's teacher. Use event code: yqjxb. Follow the instructions on each page. You will receive an email confirmation of your Conference Day booking. School Bookings will close on October 28 at 4 pm, so please book your conference time before then.
 

Friday Is Last Day To Order New
Clairbourn Parent Merchandise

Order by Friday as we are placing the group order on October 11. Items will arrive 2-3 weeks later and payment will take place upon receipt of merchandise in the Reception Office.
 
View the display rack with clothing samples in the Reception Office. You can try on items, view size charts, and fill out an order form. Questions? Email Nancy Ward at nward@clairbourn.org.(Please note, this merchandise is for adults only and is not part of the approved student uniform choices.)
 

High School Information Meetings

 
Private high schools have been visiting campus to speak about their schools with Clairbourn eighth-graders. Poly High School visited on Friday. We also had visits from Loyola, Mayfield, La Salle and Maranatha.

Vidigami Photo Contest Ends Tomorrow

 
The vidigami photo contest ends tomorrow, October 11 at 3 pm. Parents, continue taking photos on campus and uploading them onto Vidigami in the album titled "Vidigami Photo Contest". 
 
 
  
The winner will receive their choice of a 5x7 blanket or a 7x10 blanket with a retail value up to $150. This blanket will last a lifetime and is perfect for sports, beaches, parks, camping and more. It is waterproof, windproof, insulated, washable, versatile, and comes with an ultra-light stuff sack. It is made of Polartec® fleece on one side and waterproof nylon on the other side. If you are interested in purchasing a blanket, they can be bought on our school store (limited quantities available). The winner will be announced on Thursday, October 17.

Fathers and Grandparents Visiting Day is coming up! Come to Morning Assembly and visit your child’s classrooms. Take your child and grandparents to the amazing Book Fair and enjoy refreshments in the Daycare Room. Complimentary valet parking will be available on Huntington Dr. We look forward to seeing you there!
 

Come To The Parent Estate Planning Talk

For our current Clairbourn families and friends:

Do you have an effective estate plan with a child protection package and guardianship information? Have you thought about including Clairbourn School in your will or living trust? If you are interested in learning about estate planning from experts, come to this talk, which will take place on Wednesday, November 6, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Manor House. Clairbourn friends Cynthia and Ed Pearson from Overton, Lyman & Prince, LLP and Michele Abernathy from Gifford, Dearing & Abernathy, LLP will give a presentation. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP with your name and the number of people in your party to development@clairbourn.org by Wednesday, October 30.

Last Chance to RSVP! Entrepreneurial Fair & Free Family BBQ
Clairbourn's 6th Annual Entrepreneurial Fair and Free Family BBQ will both be held on Friday, October 18 We need to know how much food to order so please RSVP to the event

CFA Meeting Tuesday, October 15

Join us on Tuesday, October 15, at 8:30 am in the Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) for the CFA meeting. Come learn about the upcoming Book Fair, "Wild About Books", and how you can contribute. There will be a talk from Mr. Barker explaining the use of technology in Clairbourn's classrooms, and there will be a preview of the special presentations for the Library's Book Fair Wish List. See you there!

Visiting Authors - Order Your Books Now!

Visiting authors Carter Higgins and Tracy Holczer will visit Clairbourn for an exciting book-signing event on October 22. Learn more about Clairbourn's visiting authors and purchase a variety of their books to be signed. Please print and fill out order forms and give them to your child's teacher. Orders must be turned in by Friday, October 18. 

Get Involved With The Book Fair - Volunteer/Donate Now! 

Mark your calendars for the grand opening for Clairbourn's Book Fair, "Wild About Books," on Friday, October 18. In order to have an amazing Book Fair, we need volunteers, sponsorships, and donations. The Book Fair Committee thanks you in advance! How can you help?
1. Volunteer: We are especially in need of volunteers for the following times (2 hr shifts):
Friday, 2-4:30 pm
Monday 12-4 pm
Tuesday 12-4 pm
 
Please sign up to volunteer.
 
2. Sponsor: If you are unable to volunteer your time, the Library and the Technology Department need sponsorship of "Wish List" items. These items include book character reenactments by an actor as well as technology for use in the classroom or in computer class. Please sign up to sponsor presentations and/or sign up to sponsor technology. 
 
3. Donate
If you are unable to sponsor any Wish List Items, we are in need of hospitality donations for our hardworking volunteers. Please sign up to donate.
 
4. Buy Books
And finally, we would love to see each family come visit the Book Fair and purchase books! Twenty percent of the purchase price of the books goes back to the school. Shop early for Christmas gifts not only for your children, but cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends' kids. A personalized, signed book from our visiting authors (Tracy Holczer and Carter Higgins) makes a special and unique gift!

Thank you to everyone who purchased Book Fair T-shirts! Book Fair Shirt Day is on Thursday, October 17.  Please pick up your shirts on Tuesday, October 15, by the table at transportation.

Miss Newell Riding To Raise $ For Charity 

 
This weekend, Kindergarten Teacher Assistant Aimee Newell is participating in the 25th Annual Peak to Peak Pedal Event to raise funds for The United States Adaptive Recreation Center (USARC).  This life-changing adventure takes place over the course of five days and covers 335 miles, including two mountain ranges. All proceeds raised by Aimee and other cyclists supports USARC in their mission to help adults and children with all types of cognitive and physical disabilities to develop new skills and face challenges through outdoor recreation.
