Dear Clairbourn Families,
We are getting close to the start date for school. The COVID testing for Monday, August 23 has been set, preschool orientations have been scheduled and the emails to parents were sent, and the classrooms are getting ready!
In your parent CougarNet account, you will see the general schedules for your classes. Parents can see the student schedules by clicking on their name in the upper left corner. Don't worry, all new students (who are old enough) will be helped to log into their own accounts on the first day of school. They don't need to log in at this point. During the school day, the students will complete any forms assigned to them with the help of the teachers. Parents should complete their forms now. Remember, each parent must log into their own account to complete the forms themselves.
The first few days of school will be all about getting the students orientated, so you don't need to worry about an orientation before school starts. Parents will have Back-to-School Nights via Zoom (see schedule below) to get information about the year from their child's teacher. Parents should also look for an email from the teacher about what to bring on the first day. Remember, you may walk your child to their classroom on the COVID testing day so they are familiar with the path. On the first day of school we will only allow students on campus, but we will have people stationed around campus to help students find their way and extend a warm welcome.
Preschool (JPK and PK) orientations have been scheduled and information sent to parents.
All classrooms have been equipped with air purifiers and upgraded filters in our normal A/C systems. In addition, student desks remain spaced out in classes from between 3 feet and 6 feet, depending on the size of the class and classroom configuration.
At lunch, students will be spaced at 6 feet apart at the lunch tables. At some of the tables there are dividers if the spacing can't be maintained. All lunches will be outside whenever possible.
We are again doing a staggered drop off time for students in the morning (see the schedule below). If you cannot come at the specified time, due to siblings times or work requirements, you may drop off anytime after 7:30 am. The schedule is our preferred timing to help with congestion.
Masks have been another topic for questions. Masks are required at all times on campus, inside and out, regardless of vaccination status. This may change as conditions change. We maintain our policy that no gaiters or masks with valves will be allowed. Please send spare masks with your child so they may change them out if they get soiled or dropped. We also have extra masks in the health office should there be a need.
We are so excited to see the smiling students on the 23rd for testing and on the 26th for our first day of the 2021-22 school year! We can't wait!

Meet Our New Team
Please join us in welcoming our new middle school English teacher!
 Ms. Lew is our new Middle School English teacher. She has more than six years of teaching experience and holds a degree in English from UCLA. Prior to teaching, Ms. Lew worked as a TV news reporter and anchor for NBC. Ms. Lew enjoys helping each student become a stronger reader, writer, listener, and speaker. She is conversational in French and is training for the 2022 Pasadena Triathlon, which will be her third triathlon. |
Join Clairbourn Vidigami - our online portal for school photos!
Step 1: New users please activate your account.
Clairbourn uses Vidigami to securely share school photos. An invitation has been sent to new users. Please activate your Vidigami account to get access to our secured school photo sharing portal. We love your participation! The more you post, the more it helps us capture special memories!
Your membership, once activated, will allow you to download/upload media, tag faces, and search for photos by name if they have been tagged.
Step 2: Download Vidigami V3 App to your cell phone.
Be sure to use the same email you use for Clairbourn's CougarNet. If you already downloaded Vidigami app from previous years, you must remove the old app and download a new V3 Vidigami app due to the recent software upgrade.
