Preparation for the start of school

Dear Clairbourn Families,

Today, I start with a big shoutout to Mr. Ryan Morehouse and his fabulous maintenance crew. They have been working tirelessly to make the campus ready for the students to return. Air filters have been changed, water fountains tested, air cleaners added to each room, and moving classrooms to their new locations have all been accomplished!  Well done team!

I also want to let the community know that we are grateful for all that Mr. and Mrs. Barker have contributed to the school over the years, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors as they move on to new adventures.

We have hired a Middle School English teacher and will introduce you to her in next week's newsletter. We are in the process of screening applicants for the technology position and have some great candidates. More to come on that. In the meantime, our technology company is hard at work preparing all of our educational technology, so we should have a smooth start to the year. If you have individual technology questions, feel free to reach out to info@clairbourn.org.

Many of you have asked about the After-School Classes and Daycare options. This information will go out in a special edition eCourier in the next several days so you can sign up for the options you need.

Another big shoutout goes to our Communications and Marketing Director, Jeanette Zamora who was responsible for bringing our new logo to life. You saw it in the communication earlier this week, and we are really excited about how well it represents our mission. This year will be a transition year for adopting the logo on uniforms and other locations. So don't worry if your uniforms don't have the new logo!

We are excited to have everyone back on campus and see all of the smiling faces of the students (at least the top half)!

Amy Patzlaff, Ed.D.

Meet Our
Language Specialists

Mrs. Drazic and Mrs. Rubio get to work with our students in their new role. Let's welcome them!

Mrs. Rubio is our Spanish teacher for K-5th. She has
13 years of teaching experience and holds a degree from USC. She is passionate about her native language and culture, and
she can’t wait to bring it to
the classroom with lots of discussions, learning and music! Her biggest joy is to see self-confidence build
in each student. In her free time, she loves making cookies and watching Disney movies with her family!

Mrs. Drazic
is our middle school Spanish teacher.
She holds a BA in Spanish Language and Literature, dual Master's Degrees in Criminal Justice and Education, and a California Teaching Credential. Mrs. Drazic worked as a Spanish language interpreter for
law enforcement and
she has been teaching at Clairbourn since 2016.
Her enthusiasm has
brought Spanish to life in her classroom!

Welcome from CFA

Hello Clairbourn!

Hope everyone's summer is going well. I would like to welcome old families as well as new ones to our school. To the new families, I know you will love the school as much as our family does! We have been at Clairbourn now for 6 years and each day stepping into school feels like being welcomed into a family. I am so honored to be serving the 2021-2022 school year as your Clairbourn Family Association (CFA) President.

I am sure parents are happy to see their children return back in the classroom. We have such an incredible and resilient community at Clairbourn. The CFA has been hard at work planning events, such as the Annual Book Fair, Entrepreneurial Fair, Family BBQ, Spring Carnival, and an Online Auction for our upcoming school year. We cannot wait for everyone to see all the exciting activities we have planned for our school and families!
