Summer Updates

Dear Clairbourn Families,

We are eagerly anticipating the start of our school year and are very busy making preparations. I can't wait to see the students back on campus!

Many people have asked about the options for daycare and lunches. At this time, we are allowing Parker-Anderson to offer after school classes and daycare for Grades 1-8. Clairbourn will also offer Preschool-Kindergarten Daycare. They will follow all of the protocols for schools to maintain the health and safety of our campus. As the situation in the community changes, we continue to monitor recommendations made by the state and local health departments and will adjust as needed.

The other question I have seen come up is about the lunch options. We are able to offer Choice Lunch and the CFA special lunches this year. Choice Lunch and the restaurant vendors already have the health regulations in place and will be a great option for our families. We will not allow other vendors to deliver lunches and are strongly discouraging parents from bringing lunches during the day. We ask all families to send lunches with the students at the beginning of the day or order from Choice Lunch.

You Are CFA!

All Clairbourn families are members of the Clairbourn Families Association (CFA)

The mission of the CFA is to enrich and strengthen our community. All of the activities of the CFA (from Book Fair, to Special Lunches, to Used Uniform Sales) are done in the name of fostering that family feeling Clairbourn is known for, as well as creating opportunities for families to participate in their children’s school. Of course, we fundraise too. The CFA provides important dollars to Clairbourn each year that help provide everything from field trips to assemblies and guest speakers. Register With Magnus Health and
Complete Required Health Forms

It is vital that the school has current health information for each child. All families must complete Magnus Health forms and submit their child’s immunization records before school begins. This is a state law. Please use this CougarNet link for Magnus Health in the Resource Board section to provide your information. New families must

complete the Magnus Health and

new student forms by 8/1/2021.

Clairbourn strings teacher Ms. Mize's growing family!

Elizabeth M. is a Clairbourn alumni, class of 2006. She attended Clairbourn for 10 years and is the daughter of our librarian and strings teacher, Ms. Mize. We are happy to hear from Ms. Mize that Elizabeth got married on July 14! Congratulations!

Amberly's summer celebration of music and art!

Amberly from 3rd grade is spending her summer celebrating her love of music and art. She was awarded 3rd place in the 2021 Acevedo Music & Art Education Foundation Art Contest. Her artwork featured HEALING HANDS to highlight her love of music. Amberly also participated in her very first live piano concert with Acevedo to celebrate Fourth of July. She played “I Spy” by Melody Bober. In addition, she received 1st Class Honors with Distinction for her first Royal Conservatory Exam - Piano Level 2. What a summer! Thank you for sharing your story and love for the arts, Amberly! Congratulations!

Life at Clairbourn

Preschool got inspired by their classroom pet, Frankie the turtle, and began an under-the-sea learning unit. They read lots of books and played sea creature fun-fact games. This is the last week of their summer session and they are wrapping it up with a sea creature scavenger hunt. Well done, preschool!
