Head of School Update

Dear Clairbourn Families,

I hope you are all finding time to relax, rejuvenate, and restore while still staying safe. We continue to enjoy the sounds of children on campus during the summer with our Preschool and the Parker-Anderson summer program. We are also working hard on preparations for next year, hiring new people, working on curriculum, and making the campus fresh and ready for our return in late August. The campus is quite busy during the summer!

As we plan for the fall, we are anticipating a fully on campus program. We continue to have regular meetings with the health departments and other safety experts. None of the reopening protocols have been finalized at this time, but we are keeping up with the changes as they happen. We will message out any changes as we get closer to the start of school. It is also important to monitor the travel restrictions as they change in order to avoid impacting the start of school.  As of now, there is no need to quarantine, and no need for testing if you are fully vaccinated, but keep monitoring this if you plan to travel, as recommendations may impact the unvaccinated children more than the adults.

We are very excited to welcome all students back to campus in the fall. It won’t be totally back to normal, but it will feel good to have even more energy on campus. As we learned in the spring, our students are really good at following protocols and keeping our community as low risk as possible. We are so grateful to have the support of our families and the cooperation of the students. We are also excited to welcome in so many new families this year. I hope each new family has been in contact with a host family by now. (A HUGE thank you to all host families who stepped up to make others feel welcome.) Each new family adds something special to our community and I look forward to meeting each of you as we start the year.

For now, the best preparation for a successful start of the year is to recharge and have fun, complete the summer reading for students entering 4th - 8th grades, order your uniforms, complete your Magnus Health information, and vaccinate your child for COVID-19 if they are eligible.
