Clairbourn Insights: Learning through Play

Every moment is a teaching and learning moment at Clairbourn!

A lot is happening around the campus during this summer, especially in our preschool! Our JPK Bumblebees and PK Grasshoppers are learning through play and having a fun time exploring different materials in various ways for their sensory development. Play helps to nurture imagination and give a child a sense of adventure. Through this, they can learn essential skills such as problem solving, working with others, social and emotional development, sharing and much more. Children drew on concrete, used spray bottles to water the plants, and used water squirters to see how far they could spray. When using the water squirter, one child even said, “It’s just like a syringe!” Making connections to their world is a big part of learning!
Reading Resource
for Summer

Continue your love for reading this summer!

At Clairbourn, reading is big part of a student's daily life. From individual quiet reading time, library read alouds, to book fairs meeting authors, and buddy reading across grade levels, Clairbrourn students embrace all aspects of it! Our teachers carefully put together summer reading resources for students entering 4th to 8th grade. Cougars, let's continue your love for reading this summer. We can't wait to hear all about it!

School News

School continues to stay busy this summer getting ready for the new school year and that includes strengthening our team to better support our Clairbourn community!

We are excited to welcome Nicole Wang to the Business Office and Carolyn Morales as Administrative Assistant.

Nicole Wang | Accounts Receivable & HR

Our newest member of the Business Office is Ms. Nicole Wang. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California (go Trojans!) and nine years of experience in accounting and finance. Starting in 2010, Ms. Wang paused her career to fully care for her three children. During that period, she continued to use her professional skills in volunteer endeavors at her children’s schools and sports organizations. She is now excited to resume her career from where she left off about a decade ago!

Carolyn Morales | Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Carolyn Morales was born and raised in Hong Kong. She earned her B.A. in Early Childhood Education and has been a Preschool Director in the Arcadia area for 7 years prior to Clairbourn. She has teaching experiences in both preschool and Kindergarten and also worked in the administration field for the past 10 years. Mrs. Morales loves languages and she can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and Korean, as well as English. When away from work, Mrs. Morales enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends, and baking with her daughter. She looks forward to getting to know the Clairbourn community!
