Spring Concert, the Carnival and Changes for the End of the Year
Dear Clairbourn Families,
As we approach the end of the year and start bringing our traditional events back, I am excited for you to experience the sweet, joyful, childlike songs this Saturday at our Spring Concert. Everyone is invited to bring a blanket or a low beach chair and enjoy the show. Please leave tall chairs at home so everyone can see. Also please leave the sidewalks clear when you set your blankets down. I am also excited about our Carnival. The CFA team has been working really hard to make sure it is fun for everyone! It will be a day full of smiles!
We are planning to resume our in-person Morning Assembly for grades 1-8 for the last two weeks of the year. This will be for students and teachers only as we make the transition. We will keep the cohorts apart in the MPB to minimize risk. Here are the changes you need to know about for the end of the year:
May 9: No Magnus Check In the Morning
We continue to ask that any student who is ill or has symptoms stays home. When you pull up to the curb in the morning, you don't need to wait for a teacher to open the door and check the app. The K-8 student may get out of the car on their own at the curb. We will still be there to assist and support safety.
May 9-13: Practice Getting to School by 8am
There is currently no line at 7:45. Please be patient and safe!
May 16 to the end of the year: All students must be in their classrooms by 8am.
Students will be marked tardy after 8:05am. Please arrive at school between 7:30am and 8am.
Preschool parents must continue to walk their children to the gate and sign them in. Preschool students may arrive between 7:30am and 8:20am. Preschool families wishing to avoid the rush may arrive between 8:10am - 8:20am and not be marked tardy.
I am thrilled to have these important elements of our community again be part of our regular routine.
So bring a blanket and enjoy the program on Saturday!

Auction Item Highlights
Second grader Isabella J. took over the responsibility as the lower school Spanish teacher. She gave a presentation in Spanish and then translated it into English. Isabella also brought pupusas to share with her class! Gracias, Señora Isabella!
Carrie C. from fifth grade invited three friends to Disneyland and had a FUN day with Dr. Ryan, Mrs. Rubio and Mrs. Zamora. They went on over twelve rides and ended the day with the fireworks! Carrie said on her way home, "Can we do it again next week?!"
Three preschool students joined Milania for a PK camping party! They played, camped, ate popcorn, enjoyed a movie, and had a great time with Mrs. Strong and Ms. Flores.
Fourth grader Keira W. was the Director of Communications and Marketing this Monday! She presented her ideas at the marketing meeting, captured special moments that were happening around the campus, and worked with Mrs. Zamora to produce a poster that will be displayed next week at transportation! Don't forget to check out Keira's photography in Vidigami! Well done, Keira!

Clairbourn Insights
Building Clairbourn Connection Through Star Wars Design Challenge
The May Drop and Build Design Challenge was a memorable day for all those involved! Student Council used this as a community building opportunity for middle school students to connect with lower school students. Second through eighth grade students celebrated the Star Wars theme design challenge by collaborating and building a Star Wars ship using popsicle sticks, straws, paper cups, clothespins, and tape. Each team consisted of older and younger students working together. Our Cougars used The Force to brainstorm and build the longest ships they could in the time allowed.
Thank you to Student Council for planning this special activity to bring our community closer. The Force was strong at Clairbourn!
Here is a list of our May Drop and Build team winners: 3rd & 6th - Marc, Asal, Ariel, Emma; 5th and 7B - Nathan, Shalom, Bella, Fiona, Tommy; 2G and 7A - Shogo, Selina, George, Penelope; 8A - William, Kiri; and the team that built the longest starship in the whole school is from 2B and 8B - Vittoria, Yuqi, Harper, Katelyn and Elizabeth. Congratulations, Cougars!
