Clairbourn Plan for Leadership Team: A Message From Head Of School Dr. Patzlaff
Dear Clairbourn Family,
Thank you so much for coming together to preserve as much normalcy as possible for our students in this time of sudden change with the loss of Mr. Millard. We are feeling your love and support and are grateful. I want to let you know about our plan for the rest of the school year.
Starting next week, Mrs. Janet Taylor, our current 8th Grade Dean, Middle School Coordinator, and Middle School English Teacher, will be assuming a hybrid position of Interim Assistant Head and 7th and 8th Grade English Teacher.
The 6th Grade English class will be taught by Mrs. Cara Barker in addition to her French and Latin classes. I will also be picking up some of the other duties as needed.
In addition, Karen Paciorek will return to her supervision of the 1st through 3rd grade classes since the admissions season is winding down.
These individuals are well equipped to handle the new duties. Mrs. Taylor holds a Master of Administrative Leadership degree, a Master of Education degree, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Studio Art. Mrs. Barker holds a teaching credential, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and has a Master of Science degree in Secondary Education. Mrs. Barker has taught Middle School English at Clairbourn before, so she has experience in working with our students in this way. We are confident, with this structure, that the students will continue to learn and progress.

Thank You For Supporting The Millard Family: A Message From Head Of School Dr. Amy Patzlaff
Dear Clairbourn Community,
The outpouring of love from the Clairbourn Family has been amazing to watch. I have seen you supporting each other and have felt your support and love toward the school. Many of you have asked how you can help. Right now the biggest concern for the Millard family is financial uncertainty. One of the best ways the community can show support is by helping them in this way. Funds raised will go toward memorial costs, the immediate and future financial stresses they are facing, and a college fund for their daughter, Anya. This is a wonderful community and we are joining in this fundraising effort along with Westridge, where Mrs. Millard works, High Point Academy, where they both taught for many years, and Flintridge Sacred Heart, where their daughter now attends high school. Thank you for your love and for your support of the Millard Family.

Important News From The Health Office
“Students demonstrating cold or flu symptoms and running a fever should stay home. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school.”
It is important to note that the CDC considers a person to have a fever when he or she has a measured temperature of at least 100.4 °F [38 °C]. The Health Office uses an Exergen Temporal Scanner to determine temperature.
It is also the school’s policy that children who have vomited must leave school. The 24-hour rule applies to vomiting as this may also be a symptom of the flu and or a foodborne illness which can also be contagious.
